Past Annual Conferences

Past Annual Conferences

The Canadian Geotechnical Society is very proud of the fact that it has been holding the longest continuous annual geotechnical conference in the world…every year since 1947.

The streak contains one hiccup. The annual conference in 1965, held in Montreal, QC, was combined with the 6th International Conference of the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, and the conference was therefore not referred to as a CGS annual conference, although it really was.

Past CGS Geohazards Conferences

Since 1992, the Society has also holds periodic conferences on geohazards.

Past Canadian Young Geotechnical Engineering and Geoscience Conferences

The Society also holds periodic conferences specifically for young (nominally under the age of 35) geotechnical engineers and related geoscientists.

CGS members can access the proceedings of all past CGS Annual Conferences and some past CGS GeoHazards Conferences by going to the Members Section.
