The Joint Technical Committee No.1 (JTC1) on Landslides and Natural Slopes of the ISSMGE, ISRM, IAEG and IGS, has launched a call to select the 2nd Hutchinson Lecturer.
The lecture was established to recognize a scholar, aged 42 or less at the time of the event, who has significantly contributed to the development of knowledge in the field of slope stability and landslides through his or her research and other work. The Hutchinson Lecture will be delivered during the 2nd JTC1 Workshop in Hong Kong in December, 2018 and will focus on research by the lecturer consistent with the topic of the event. The provisional workshop theme is “Triggering and propagation of rapid flow-like landslides”.
The CGS Geohazards Committee welcomes nominations from CGS members to assist with their selection to forward to the JTC1 – please send a brief one-page bio and a C.V. to geohazards@cgs.ca by October 31, 2017.
