Canadian Federation of Earth Sciences: Geologize Courses – CGS Member Discount

July 2021

The Canadian Federation of Earth Sciences (www.cfes-fcst.ca), of which CGS is a member, recently licensed Geologize’s courses, 'Practical Geocommunication' and 'Geoscience Outreach in Schools'. Geologize teaches geoscientists to bring the public to a greater understanding and appreciation of our planet through effective and powerful communication. With falling public engagement, we believe this effort is crucial.

 

The CFES’ generous support means that 10 individuals from every Canadian geoscience-related department will be given access to the course, and that all member organisation members receive access to the course at an 80% discount, and that's you.  


How to Enrol in the Course:
Please contact the CGS National Office at info@cgs.ca to receive the CGS-unique access code, and then:

1) Head over to http://training.geologize.org/courses/cfes (find out more about the course here, including explainer video)

2) Click CFES ACCESS. Then click on Have a Coupon on the right-hand side.

3) Enter the code above. This will change the fee from USD$490 fee to USD$98.

4) Register and start learning!


The number of times this coupon can be used is strictly limited with the CFES license. We therefore request that you do not share it outside our society, to allow other individuals to enjoy the training.

Learners follow the course at their own pace, and you will have lessons, quizzes, assignments and the opportunity to interact directly with Haydon Mort, the course teacher through the forums. A CPD-valid certificate is provided at the end of the course, with the seals of many endorsing institutions, including the CFES.

 

Either during or following completion of the course, CFES requests that you create at least one geoscience related social media post using the hashtag #CFES-Geologize.
