We recently officially opened registration for the CGS YP Conference 2022 being hosted this fall in beautiful Banff, AB! Here are just a few reasons to look forward to the conference:
The conference will take place over three exciting, action-packed days. The first day will be a full day guided technical tour with stops at geological and geotechnical points of interest between Calgary and Banff, led by Dale Leckie, Adjunct Professor in the Department of Geoscience at the University of Calgary. The second day will open with a presentation by our first keynote speaker, followed by presentations by all our young professional delegates. Each delegate will have a maximum of 3 minutes to present an “elevator pitch” on a topic of their choice, which is intended to challenge delegates to generate interest in their topic ahead of a poster session with the other conference delegates. With their presentations completed, delegates will have dinner and social events to look forward to in the evening. The final day of the conference will feature the remaining keynote presentations and two separate delegate activities related to the conference theme, “Risky Business”, followed by a closing dinner to wrap up the conference.
We’re also excited to announce that we’ve confirmed our list of keynote speakers for the conference, which include:
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our technical tour guide and keynote speakers in advance for taking the time to be part of the CGS YP Conference 2022 and supporting the development of young professionals in our industry.
We would also like to express our appreciation to all the companies who have committed to sponsoring this conference so far. All the funding goes directly towards helping to make the conference accessible to all young professionals, and this conference would not be possible without your generosity.
