The International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) recently announced two named lectures in geosynthetics engineering. The Richard Bathurst Lecture on Soil Reinforcement and the Kerry Rowe Lecture on Barrier Systems.
The IGS announced that “the Richard Bathurst lecture recognizes his contribution to the technical advancement of all aspects of reinforced soil structures with geosynthetics and his overall contribution in the development of the IGS. The Kerry Rowe lecture recognizes his powerful contributions to the understanding of barrier behaviour and performance.”
Each lecture will be given by an expert at the quadrennial international conference of the International Geosynthetics Society commencing in Rome in September 2023.
Richard Bathurst and Kerry Rowe are members of the GeoEngineering Centre at Queen’s-RMC and are past Presidents of the CGS and the Engineering Institute of Canada.
