September 29 to October 1, 2022 in Banff, Alberta
The CGS Young Professionals (CGS YP) Conference is coming to Banff, Alberta in September 2022! Formerly known as the Canadian Young Geotechnical Engineers and Geoscientists Conference (cYGEGC), the CGS YP Conference is the 7th iteration of a triennial conference organized by and targeted at young professionals (and students) under the age of 35 in the field of Geotechnique.
The CGS YP Conference 2022 will be held at the Banff Centre for Creativity from September 29 to October 1, 2022. The theme will be “Risky Business” and delegates will be encouraged to explore the risks that are inherent within the field of Geotechnique and how they are managed.
The structure of this conference is expected to be very similar to the previous iteration in 2019 which included a day of technical tours within the conference region, followed by two days of delegate presentations and keynote addresses by distinguished speakers.

The CGS launched pilot tests of Student Chapters in September 2019. Student Chapters provide university students an opportunity to raise awareness and learn more about our field, network with professionals, and gain leadership experience through creating an organization within the CGS.
